O’s Notes: Al plays both sax and flute leading his band through eleven soulfully smooth contemporary jazz tunes. Keyboard player John Stoddart wrote many of the tunes and also produced the CD. He adds vocals on “If You Really Need Me Now”. There is a good mix of upbeat, mellow and slow cuts. Our favorite tunes were the cover of “One Hundred Ways”, “Skyline Drive”, “Midnight In Morocco” with Aaron Broadus (t) sharing the melody and “I Never Thought”. Al’s style is soulfully smooth with strong radio appeal.
