O’s Notes: Pianist Vincent Lyn leads a contemporary Latin band through a combination of upbeat originals and standards. The band is quite talented and each of them makes a solid contribution. Camila Meza (g) and Joe Sanchez (b) shine on “Old Croy” while Joe Meo (sax, fl) takes the lead on several tracks. Fernanda Capela wrote the vocals for several tracks, singing in Portuguese. Lyn plays quite well generally connecting the elements but standing out on “Gymnopedie” (No. 1 and Waltz) as well as “Nigerian Marketplace” sharing the spotlight with Meza.
