O’s Notes: Known as the Saxophone Queen Fostina Dixon plays sax flute and also sings. She opens her latest release Here We Go Again with a contemporary arrangement of “Caravan” that is popping! But songs 2 through 8 are all contemporary gospel. Whether you are into gospel music or not, Dixon’s approach is engaging. The tile track is among those that entice the congregation to sing along as is “Prayer of Jabez” in memory of Marvin Gaye. Her jazzy, funky, R&B infusion on spiritual music will help keep us in church.
