O’s Notes: Vocalist Mark Winkler combines with his go-to producer Barbara Brighton for a novel approach on his latest release, Hold On. He uses six different pianist/arrangers to underscore his relaxed vocal style, defining an expression of his personal style and affinities. Greg Gordon Smith, John Beasley, Rich Eames, Tamir Hendelman, Eric Reed, and Jamieson Trotter each bring unique characteristics to the party leading to a diversified session. 7 of the 11 songs are originals. We liked “If I Were A Bell”, “My Future’s Just A Memory”, “I Dream Of You Each Night”, “The Devil Don’t Want A Saint”, and “My Electric Car”.
