O’s Notes: This is a combination of a fine voice with premium music, always a winning combination! Beth’s voice is soft but strong with rich tone. She sings 17 songs in a variety of styles including four originals. “I Ain’t Got Nothing but The Blues” has the smoky club feeling with trumpet players Tim Leahy and Jon Mathis picking up the melody where Beth leaves off. Lou Rainone does a fine job playing a piano. There is a cool calypso beat on “Don’t Be A Baby”, a taste of Latin on “Besame Mucho” and some pop for her cover of “Fever”. McDonald is also comfortable singing country on “Second Guessing”. There is something here to please all tastes.
