O’s Notes: This is an excellent tribute to Louis Armstrong, especially the vocals of John Redmond, a renowned Louis Armstrong impressionist. The swinging, New Orleans-style band is led by Thomas J. Dawson, Jr. We enjoyed “Just A Closer Walk With Thee” and the classics “Smile”, “Imagine” and “Summertime” featuring Linda Purl with Redmon. Marcus Henderson and Levaughn Hardy add sweet soul and spiritual impact to “Precious Lord” expanding the appeal of this spiritual beyond the church walls.
