O’s Notes: Guitarist Andrew Scott and trombonist Kelley Grant are the leaders of a straight-ahead quintet including Amanda Tosoff (keyboards), Neil Swainson (b) and Terry Clarke (d). They play nine originals, mostly by Scott, that have history behind them with no gimmicks. They in close a taste of bossa nova on “Beautiful Shira”, and a wealth of swing on “The Tamarind Tree”, “The Problems Of Your Future” and “Horizon Song”.
