O’s Notes: Don is a musician’s musician. He always attracts strong players. This quartet is Tim Armacost (sax), Tony Jefferson (d), Ron McClure (b) and Friedman on piano. The music is mellow and relaxed. They get their points across without gimmicks, just good arrangements and great playing. There are many solo piano exchanges where Friedman shines. It is easy to enjoy as background music or for in depth listening.
