O’s Notes: Jazz pianist Kevin O’Connell leads a fine band for Hot New York Minutes, his latest release. Paul Gill (b) and Mark Taylor (d) round out the rhythm section. Saxophonist Adam Brenner (alto and tenor) is the featured artist soloing throughout the set notably on “One For George”. Kevin gets his groove on as well with dashing, tasty exchanges with Gill as on “Newest Blues”. Other highlights include “Biskit”, and “Choose Now”.
