O’s Notes: Karrin turned her attention towards Brasil for Imagina. Her gentle voice on “Outono” and the mid-tempo favorite “Double Rainbow” paints these compositions with a different pallet. The band includes top musicians including guitarist Rod Fleeman, Gil Goldstein (p, accordion) and bassist David Finck. Allyson captured the essence of bossa nova with the band helping us enjoy and relax while listening. Her pronunciation of Brasilian Portuguese was convincing on the title track but it’s the combination of the music and her vocal tone that makes this session flow.
