O’s Notes: Dave Shank (vibes, keyboards, perc) leads his contemporary jazz band through nine original compositions that have a funky Latin groove that will appeal to fans of Spyro Gyra. Shank and company carve out their own signature with the heavily syncopated beats on “South of the Boulevard”, “Preference Point” and the soothing “No Mais”. The band includes Terry Silverlight (d), Mike Migliore (fl), Tony Kadleck (t), Bob Devos (g) and W. O. Black (b). They are off to a good start!
