O’s Notes: Trio Xolo is a free jazz band featuring Zachary Swanson on bass with saxophonist Derrick Michaels and percussionist Dalius Naujo. In Flower In Song is their debut recording, a spontaneous, live recording. They are fueled by each other’s energy. They converge on themes allowing thoughts to develop in meaningful ways as on “Anchored in Peace” with a strong lengthy solo from Swanson. This is a very listenable session.
