O’s Notes: B3 master Chris Hazelton resides in Kansas City where he teaches at KCCC. In Rotation is his latest recording in a quartet with Brett Jackson (sax), Peter Schlamb (vibes), and John Kizilarmut (d). These guys light up the KC jazz scene regularly and expand their reach with this album. We liked “Paris of the Plains”, “First Snow”, “Brisk Breeze Through the Trees”, and the warm “Summer In Central Park”. It is a very accessible session.
