O’s Notes: Harris has a cool R&B sound that rekindles the soulful music of the 1970s. It is complete with harmonizing on “Darlin’ Darlin’ Baby”, soft female vocals from Alyson Williams on “The Milky Way” and the Latin based “Vamonos!” with Harris manning the Rhodes and Café playing timbales and percussion. Lafayette does a good job mixing covers with originals to make this current recording have a retro sound. He also shows his dexterity on the piano with “Those Memories” that also includes a cool bass solo from Gary Hasse.
