O’s Notes: Songstress Kandace Springs cut her teeth in Nashville before expanding her musical wings in both New York and Los Angeles. But she’s now back home in Nashville and has released“Indigo, her second album as a leader. She glides across genres with new and classic tracks in a contemporary set that makes good use of her smokey, soulful tones. The first half of the session leans toward pop then she unleashes a strong jazzy, R&B cover of “People Make The World Go Round” that caught our attention. She follows with “Unsophisticated” featuring Roy Hargrove on trumpet. Those are standouts in a good session.
