O’s Notes: Alto saxophonist Mike DiRubbo assembles a fine band with Brian Charette (B3), Jongkuk Kim (d), and Andrew Renfroe (g). Inner Light opens with Renfroe shining on “JK In NYC” and amplifying the strong fusion groove on “The Moment Before Sunrise” as well. We also enjoyed “The Muse”, “Bethune Street”, the relaxing “Love The Same”, and the title track, making this a winning session!
