O’s Notes: Chaise Lounge is a modern jazz sextet featuring vocalist Marilyn Older. Gary Gregg (sax, fl, cl), Tommy Barrack (d), Pete Ostle (b, tuba), John Jensen (tb) and pianist/arranger/composer Charlie Barnett make the music. They play a wide variety of tunes some retro, samba, blues and contemporary pop. Our favorites are “Ode to Billy Joe”, “43 Good Reasons” and “The Devil on My Cellphone”, a death wish. We found ourselves listening to this CD on multiple occasions!
