O’s Notes: We knew from the first few notes of the opener “Song For My Father” that we’d stumbled onto a gem! It will appeal to pure jazz fans, blues lovers and those on the contemporary side of the ruler as well. Typhanie’s voice is inviting and she does a good job scatting as well. Neal carries the accompaniment on guitar with some funky strummin’, leads and comps. Special guest Jeff Hanley does a great job on bass on several tracks. They breathe new life into songs like “Fever” and “Love For Sale”. The minimalist approach allows the beauty of voice and instruments to shine. They are playing songs they love and we enjoyed listening to them over and again!
