O’s Notes: Pianist Eunmi Lee composed all the music on Introspection, the musical expression of her inner observations. Bassist Matt Clohesy and drummer Ari Hoenig round out the rhythm section. There are strings on a few selections and a strong horn section that features Alan Ferber (tb) and John Ellis (t-sax, cl, b-cl). We enjoyed “5.19”, a song commemorating her experience visiting The Netherlands on May 19, “Narcissism”, “Gimmick”, and “Azure”, in an enjoyable session.
