O’s Notes: Young jazz bassist and composer Matt Snow is building momentum on the New York Jazz scene. He leads a talented band with Joe Doubleday (vibes), Daisuke Abe (g), David Gibson (tb), Clay Lyons (a-sax) and Wayne Smith (d) for his recording debut. Snow plays a supporting role for most of the set, allowing his compositions to unfold. The band takes their time playing with deliberation and purpose to arrive at a warm performance on Iridescence. This is an after-work, wine down set with 48 minutes of relaxing tunes. It is different and cool!
