O’s Notes: Every year, there are countless new releases of timeless traditional Holiday music. Most are easily recognizable with color added by your favorite artist. A few take the traditional tunes into a fresh, new and inviting phase. Its Christmas On Mack Avenue is one of the latter drawing upon its stable of jazz artists to improvise on the classics. Aaron Diehl, Christian McBride, Tia Fuller, Warren Wolf and Sean Jones are among the many who make a contribution. The result is a mostly instrumental set that could work year round but certainly now!
