O’s Notes: Eric Offner, President of the Sidney Bechet Society assembled a fine sextet including musical director and clarinetist, Evan Christopher, pianist Mark Shane and Wycliff Gordon on trombone. They capture the lazy blues and bounce of New Orleans jazz typifying the 1940’s. It is an excellent introduction to Bechet’s music or for old fans, a great time to reminisce!
