O’s Notes: This grouping is even more legendary than the members individually. Dizzy Gillespie (t), Charlie Parker (as), Bud Powell (p), Charles Mingus (b) and Max Roach (d) came together for this live appearance at Massey Hall in Toronto during 1953. The audience was blown away and you are sure to enjoy the music as well. They play six bop classics including “Salt Peanuts”, “A Night In Tunisia” and “Perdido”. While things aren’t always locked down tight, you’ll hear the mastery, the magic and brilliance of each of these guys.
