O’s Notes: The Jazz-Blues Brothers are pianist Jeremy Monteiro and Alberto Marsico on the B3. They produce a 9-song album including 7 originals. Guitarist Eugene Pao, tenor saxophonist Shawn Letts and drummer Shawn Kelley join them. Miz Dee Logwood injects down-home, raspy, blue, vocals into the two covers, “I’d Rather Drink Muddy Water” and “I’d Rather Go Blind”. The band has an energizing swagger on “Jack-Pot” that is complemented by soulful ballads like “Lou” and explosive solos by Pao and Letts on “Catastrophy”.
