O’s Notes: That old New Orleans sound has an intoxicating, happy and festive character. Dr. White portrays those feelings leading with his clarinet on eleven songs. He takes us to church – “If We Ever Needed Jesus”; gives us a sleepy, southern version of “Summertime” and adds a little calypso on “Caribbean Girl”. Five originals suggest that Michael is adding to the art form as well as embellishing it. He is welcomed to continue the quest!
