O’s Notes: New York-based jazz drummer takes a walk on the side of Grunge, one of his early influences in the 1990s. He leads a band with Christopher Pawluk (g), Peter Slavov (b), June Pukl (t-sax), David DeJesus (a-sax) and Valerie Costa (vocals). Jazz Grunge is rock-based fusion with honest expression. “Rooster” and “Go Lonely Woman”, are notable. Costa sings “Elderly Woman Behind The Counter in A Small Town”, “Seasons”, and “Sullen Girl”, the best of several pop, blue, ballads.
