O’s Notes: Some of you may not know Greg (piano) and Pat (vocals) Kane, the brothers from the UK, the core of Hue & Cry. They had lots of success in the late 1980’s with pop music. Lately, they have been moving towards jazz. They added the Brecker Brothers and Tommy Smith on brass and Mike Stern on guitar. This combination is a winner, with a spectrum of contemporary jazz approaches. It’s very listenable and also more engaging than elevator music.
