O’s Notes: Smooth sax player Paul “Shilts” Weimer returns to the contemporary jazz scene with ten fresh tunes that are sure to excite smooth jazz fans. Bill Steinway (keyboards), Nate Phillips (b) and Randy Jacobs (b) are his core rhythm section with drumming programmed electronically. Most of the songs are upbeat but they also slow down on “A Promise Is A Promise”. These songs sound good for many occasions especially “Too Close To The Edge” and “Ain’t It Marvelous”.
