O’s Notes: 25 year old jazz bassist John Pachnos just released his self-titled debut album with seven original songs. He leads a quintet with quintet Carter Vames (sax, fl), Caleb Heinze (g), Frankie Midnight (p), and Justin Vedovelli (d). We liked the hard bop groove of “Gettin’ Outta Dodge”, the mellow “Floridian Winter”, and “No Funks To Give”.
