O’s Notes: These guys are smoking from the opener, “Trouble Man”, with a cool funky jazz-fusion that is easy to engage in! Dr. Lonnie Smith has a confident command over the Hammond that is pure bliss. “Blue Moment” is a quiet example while he explodes on “Willow Weep For Me” making the B3 talk. Peter Bernstein (g), Matt Balitsaris (g) and Allison Miller (d). flesh out the band. The funky percussive beats surface on “Freedom Jazz Dance” and “Which Doctor” to get our heads bobbing. Bernstein’s accompaniment is excellent throughout on all tracks.
