O’s Notes: Drummer Robert Joseph has built his career around education, first absorbing as much as possible as a student and then evolving to a professor, composer and jazz writer. He polished his professional chops in New York performing with a wide array of jazz, rock, funk and jazz-fusion notables. He plays with an abundance of energy on“Just Lookin’, far above his 69 years! The Robert Joseph Express is a slammin’ quartet with keyboardist Butch Taylor, guitarist Brian Mesko and Dane Alderson on bass. Guest John D’Earth (t) plays on the title track and ‘Round Seven‘ providing sharp accents that make the music pop. Mesko brings a down-home groove to the funky ‘Snowed In.‘
