O’s Notes: Nick is a contemporary jazz guitarist. He wrote or had a hand in writing all of the songs on Keeping It Cool. Like the title suggests, the vibe is relaxed. Wes Montgomery influences Colionne’s style as he plays a lot of octaves but he also has is own character defined by rich warm melodies. It’s mostly guitar led instrumentals except “Rainy Night In Georgia” with Nick introduces his baritone vocals. He shines on “A Moment With You” and “Liquid”, a couple of the winning cuts in a very good set.
