O’s Notes: Gustavo Cortinas is the drummer, composer and bandleader for Kind Regards but Megan Stagl takes center stage singing and playing the piano. She greets us with airy, warm tones on “I Hope You Have A Good Phone Call Today” with trumpeter Emily Kuhn shadowing with complimentary melodies. That theme continues throughout the set. Erik Skore (g) and Katie Ernst (b) round out the band. The program is centered on the immigrant experience in the US. We enjoyed the sweet vocal harmonies on “If I Learned Today” and “Libertad”, two songs that sooth the soul and try to heal the wounds of that challenging experience.
