O’s Notes: Fra Fra Sound is a 7-Piece Dutch contemporary jazz band. These guys have a cool mellow sound that is a hybrid blend of Latin, African, and jazzy soul. The brass is prominent yet soothing. They’ve been around since 1980 touring globally. This latest collection continues with their signature highlighted by “Djamu”, “Para United” and “Basékounou”. We also liked the dual characteristics of “Nights in Dzaoudzi”, starting slow and evolving to an upbeat piece.
