O’s Notes: Trumpeter, composer and arranger Michael Sarian was born in Canada, raised in Argentina and now lives in Brooklyn. We hear elements of each location in his music with a seven-piece ensemble called the Chabones. We enjoyed the syncopated beats on the opener “León” and the mellow groove of “Your Words” and “Colorado Yeta” balancing a good performance.
