O’s Notes: Vibraphonist, composer and producer Stefon Harris celebrates two decades with his band Blackout on Legacy Dances, a tribute to the late electro-soul-jazz visionary Casey Benjamin, a former Blackout member. Harris (vibraphone, marimba) is joined by Christian Sands (keyboards), Dezron Douglas (b), and Terreon Gully (d). Special guests Braimah “Weedie” Morris (djembe), Anne Drummond (fl), and Oran Etkin (cl) add spice to the mix! Casey Benjamin (sax, aerophone, vocoder) is featured posthumously on “I Know Love” and “What a Wonderful World”. We liked the cool vibe on “A Radical’s Love”, “Ell’s Boogie”, and “We Are An African People” featuring Dwayne Clark on the mic.
