O’s Notes: The ten songs of this collection could easily be titled Burners but they certainly swing as well. Ron Blake opens with “Mighty Burner” followed by “Blues For Hamp” by Terry Gibbs. Ilona Knopfler adds vocals on “Comment Allez-Vous” and Jon Faddis plays a blistering solo with The Gerald Wilson Orchestra on “Nancy Jo”. These are a few of the hits on a very good collection.
