O’s Notes: The groove on“LehCats Out Of The Bag“has distinct flavors starting with “Slow March To The Showers Of No Return” featuring Chris Biesterfeldt on banjo & mandolin with Stachel on bass clarinet. Pianist Gary Fisher, drummer Dan Gonzalez, bassist Mike O’Brien and Karen Stachel (fl) are present on most tracks and establish a solid foundation. We enjoyed the pacifying“melodies of “Tacoma Rain” featuring Karen and guest pianist Bob Quaranta. Norbert swings on “Midtown Madness” before adding a touch of reggae on “Jamaica Express” with guitarists Will Bernard (rhythm) and Biesterfeldt (solo). The husband and wife (Stachel’s) team composed the music and deliver a pleasant experience.
