O’s Notes: Sheri has a rich soulful voice and she puts it to work singing heartfelt Life Stories. She conceptualized, composed, arranged, produced and performed all of the music and lyrics. She gets help from musical collaborator Jeff Victor (p, b, d, keyboards) and a few other musicians. The bass is pulsing and the message is reality. First she sings about love challenges, love ones being drafted and the troubling economy. Then she begins a transition starting with “Rain”, a cleansing reflection of youth and rejuvenation. From there she becomes optimistic, confronting her fate on “Give In” and “New Day”. Finding love on “Naturally” and moving forward on “Real Thing” we hear Hixon embracing a formula for success.
