O’s Notes: Saxophonist FKAjazz (aka Samir Zarif) teams up with Noah MacNeil (keyboards), Yoshiki Yamada (b), and Justin Swiney (d, voiceovers) in his latest adventure. Lineage is a brief session of just 16 minutes with two, three-part songs. There is a calming groove from FKAjazz. Zarif speaks of the music as being a part of our DNA, rhythms inherited through the generations that surface in every genre that African Americans touch from jazz to blues and even hip-hop! He expresses that sentiment here, albeit brief.
