O’s Notes: Jeremy Monteiro is a pianist, composer, producer and bandleader based in Singapore. He recorded his latest release at Kuala Lumpur’s No Black Tie. It’s been ascending the charts at home and in the US ever since. The simple transients like the pairing of bassist Jay Anderson and drummer Lewis Nash on ”Just In Time” before Monteiro comes back with a rousing solo make this well above average. Dynamics and pace, elements that make for lengthy, engaging listening are here full stop. Highlights include “Watermelon Man”, “Mood For Love” and “Josefina”.
