O’s Notes: The ‘Original Funky Drummer’, Clyde Stubblefield, the man who put the funk into many of James Brown’s 1970’s hits joins the B3 Bombers on this live set. They open with a sure hit “Surrey Lane” written by director and B3 master, Dan Trudell. They follow with a new arrangement of Brown’s “Make It Funky” before engaging in some hard funk, blues and soul. The brass is crisp and the energy high all the way through. This is pure entertainment, Chicago style!
