O’s Notes: Ron plays trombone and Tom plays trumpet. They blend their brass into seven harmonious melodies, all originals written by the leaders and noted guest Elias Haslanger (sax). The groove is solid with warm brass blends that sooth the soul. Bass duty is shares by Eric Revis and Neal Caine and both do a fine job anchoring the beats. This live set is focused on the brass and these gentlemen shine in unison and on solos. The exchange on “Inside Out ” is fierce. You’ll find pleasure over and over again! The leaders are smiling on the CD cover, a strong hint of the joy you’ll experience.
