O’s Notes: Johnny was one of the funkiest guitarists ever. This DVD captures his performance at the 1993 North Sea Jazz Festival in the Netherlands. Watson plays the role of lead entertainer playing to the crowd all the way through. He is not afraid to get close to his fans pulling them into the show! That was his style all the way to his death during a performance in Japan during May 1996. Johnny pulled his band into the performance as well sharing the stage with his talented team. Watson was as much a storyteller as a guitarist singing classics like “Ain’t That A Bitch”, A Real Mother For Ya”, “Three Hours Past Midnight” and “Gangster of Love”. It is all here in this show as well as in a strong extras package. We truly enjoyed it.
