O’s Notes: David Krakauer’s clarinet sounds almost like a snake charmer. The beats are club-funky on the opener “Turntable Pounding”. “Gypsy Bulgar” and “Dusky Bulgar”, two festive songs follow this with a strong presence from Will Holshouer on accordion. This is klezmer music with all of the energy and festive moods. They bounce back and forth from traditional klezmer music to the funky adaptations that really rock. Check out “Naftule’s Nussach”! The celebration occurred in the city of Krakow in June 2003. I believe they are still going.
