O’s Notes: Wes is one of the most emulated guitarists ever. His style of jazz guitar has influenced almost every jazz guitarist since. This DVD is a live performance in Holland, Belgium and England in 1965. He plays with local rhythm sections except in Belgium where he is joined by his working band, Harold Mabern (p), Arthur Harper (b) and Jimmy Lovelace (d). The familiarity surfaces as they really cook! The session in England is at Ronnie Scotts and there the focus is on Montgomery’s guitar style and technique.
