O’s Notes: This DVD captures the live performance of vibraphonist Mark Sherman with his quintet at New York’s Sweet Rhythm jazz club. His band includes Joe Magnarelli (t), Allen Farnham (p), Dean Johnson (b) and Tim Horner (d). They open with “Tip Top Rhythm”, a showcase for each musician and a swinger. That mood prevails on “The Great Trip(let)”, “Trust” and “Ella Bella”. It is an upbeat, cool set accentuated by crisp video with great close-ups.
