O’s Notes: This set captures Coltrane live in Europe (Paris, Stockholm, Hamburg, Berlin and Stuttgart) during 1961-63. The concerts were produced by the late Norman Granz featuring the rhythm section of McCoy Tyner (p), Elvin Jones (d) and Jimmy Garrison or Reggie Workman on bass. There are seven discs with all of John’s hits in extended concert versions. Some are repeated but never the same. This is what live music is all about!
