O’s Notes: If you like New Orleans Dixie music, this is your ticket. Kermit Ruffins belts out twelve all-time favorites singing and playing his trumpet with true Basin Street flavor. You’ll enjoy “Didn’t He Ramble”, “Song For My Father” and “High Heel Sneakers”. Kermit’s originals fit right into the groove. “Good Morning New Orleans” and “Tremé Mardi Gras” with rap from Baby Jaye were favorites. Katrina didn’t reshape the way we like our New Orleans jazz and Kermit delivers in classic fashion.
