O’s Notes: The smooth mellow sax of Euge Groove cuts across funky urban beats to make this another of producer Paul Brown’s hit CDs on the contemporary side. Musicians like Tony Maiden (g), Ricky Peterson (organ), Paul Jackson, Jr. (g) and Luis Conte (percussion) add the right doses of funk. There are a lot of radio friendly songs with both fast and slow tempos. Most are new compositions but there are also a few new covers like James Taylor’s “Don’t Let Me Be Lonely Tonight” and Sly Stone’s sizzling “Thank You Falletin Me Be Mice Elf Again”.
